Facilities & Growth Planning Committee
Development of the May 2017 bond proposal involved an in-depth process of information
gathering, research and community input.
During an almost two-year planning process, the district completed a demographic report, a district-wide facilities assessment, educational visioning, campus and department staff interviews, and in July 2016, formed the Facilities and Growth Planning Committee (FGPC).
The FGPC comprised of parents, community constituents, and campus and district staff met for seven months to study and prioritize the district’s current and long-term facility needs.
The FGPC was charged to represent the entire community in developing a recommendation to the Board of Trustees while considering the educational needs of all students and aligning with the district’s mission, vision and goals. These citizens dedicated their time, thoughts and resources to develop a plan for creating and maintaining learning environments that provide all students with great opportunities for success.
The committee reviewed a variety of information including enrollment projections, assessment findings, district financial analysis, instructional delivery methods, and results of a community-wide survey. Upon completion of their analysis, members reached unanimous consensus on a recommendation to the Board of Trustees to call for a bond election.
